"We did not think of the great open plains, the beautiful rolling hills, and winding streams with tangled growth as wild.
Earth was beautiful and we were surrounded with the blessings of the Great Mystery."
— Luther Standing Bear, Oglala Lakota
Greetings and welcome. My
name is Kevin Crosby, I am a Landscape and Nature
Photographer, originally from South-East Louisiana and now
living in South-West TN. Through my photography, my desire
is to showcase the natural beauty of the United States
focusing on locations in and around National Park System and
inspire others to admire the many special places found here.
Most of the images
showcased here are available as Fine Art Photographic Prints and
Wall Murals for private collectors, corporate, and hospitality
decor industry clients.
I started early with a Mamiya/Sekor
500 DTL 35mm film camera purchased in 1971. In 1975 I was
invited to join the LSU Gumbo yearbook staff. This gave me the
opportunity to shoot in lots of environments with many
different pieces of camera gear from 35mm Nikon to medium
format Hasselblad. The lesson I learned early was good
pictures are made when you see something worth shooting, then
refine it into a strong and simple composition. Cameras don't
make pictures, lenses don't either, people do.
In 2003 I
purchased my first digital camera, an Olympus C-5050. Adequate
but I was still wishing for the capabilities of a SLR. It
would be 3 years later when I obtained my first DSLR, the
Nikon D80, I was hooked again. Several years ago, my wife and
I decided to travel the USA.
You'll see a variety of different
camera hardware in use on my site, yes even some cellphone
captures.
I hope that you will enjoy my photographs as much
as I had fun making them.
